Privacy Policy for Hubspot Support Helper

Hubspot Support Helper is a Chrome extension that helps support agents copy or send HubSpot Help Desk ticket context to their support workflow, including Glean and related GitHub issue workflows.

Data the extension handles

The extension may read and process the following data from pages where it is allowed to run:

- HubSpot Help Desk ticket metadata, such as ticket title, ticket ID, contact name, company, owner, status, and ticket URL.
- HubSpot ticket conversation content, including chat messages, email-style messages, notes, inline image links, and other ticket content visible on the page.
- Attached GitHub issue content, such as issue URLs, recent issue comments, comment authors, timestamps, text, and inline image links.
- Glean editor content involved in paste formatting.
- Local extension settings, such as the configured Glean URL and Help Desk display preferences.

How the data is used

The extension uses this data only to provide its single purpose: helping support agents move HubSpot Help Desk ticket context into support workflows.

Specifically, the extension may:

- Copy ticket context to the clipboard when the user clicks Copy thread.
- Open Glean and fill the composer with ticket context when the user clicks a Glean handoff action.
- Read attached GitHub issue comments to include relevant issue context in the copied or drafted ticket payload.
- Normalize rich paste formatting between Glean and HubSpot.
- Store local settings and temporary handoff content in the browser so the workflow can complete.

Data sharing

The extension does not send user data to developer-owned servers.

Data may be placed into or read from HubSpot, Glean, GitHub, or the user’s clipboard only as part of user-initiated workflows and using the user’s existing browser session with those services. Those services are governed by their own privacy policies.

Data storage

The extension stores settings locally in Chrome storage. Temporary ticket handoff content may also be stored locally while the extension opens or fills Glean, and is cleared after successful delivery when possible.

The extension does not maintain an external database of user data.

Remote code

The extension does not use remote code. All JavaScript and CSS executed by the extension is included in the extension package.

Data sale and unrelated use

The extension does not sell user data.

The extension does not transfer user data to third parties except as necessary for the user-requested workflow with HubSpot, Glean, GitHub, or the clipboard.

The extension does not use user data for advertising, tracking, profiling, creditworthiness, or lending purposes.

Security

The extension limits host access to the websites needed for its functionality: HubSpot, Glean, and GitHub. It uses Chrome extension permissions only to support the ticket-copying, Glean handoff, GitHub issue context, paste formatting, and local settings features.
